But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. Matthew 6:3-4

That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.” Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, “Glory to God in highest heaven and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” Luke 2:8-14

“I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12

Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Psalm 51:9 NIV

I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. John 16:33

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17

Turn the Page

“YOU CAN’T START THE NEXT CHAPTER IF YOU DON’T TURN THE PAGE”

AND I AM CERTAIN THAT GOD, WHO BEGAN THE GOOD WORK WITHIN YOU, WILL CONTINUE HIS WORK UNTIL IT IS FINALLY FINISHED ON THE DAY WHEN CHRIST JESUS RETURNS. PHILIPPIANS 1:6 NLT

This confirms that he’s going to continue to use us, so we have to continue to move forward…to turn the page.

“FOR I AM ABOUT TO DO SOMETHING NEW. SEE, I HAVE ALREADY BEGUN! DO YOU NOT SEE IT? I WILL MAKE A PATHWAY THROUGH THE WILDERNESS. I WILL CREATE RIVERS IN THE DRY WASTELAND” -  ISAIAH 43:19

AFTER THE DEATH OF MOSES, THE LORD’S SERVANT, THE LORD SPOKE TO JOSHUA SON OF NUN, MOSES’ ASSISTANT. HE SAID, ‘MOSES MY SERVANT IS DEAD. THEREFORE, THE TIME HAS COME FOR YOU TO LEAD THESE PEOPLE, THE ISRAELITES, ACROSS THE JORDAN RIVER INTO THE LAND I AM GIVING THEM.   JOSHUA 1:1-2

“I PROMISE YOU WHAT I PROMISED TO MOSES: ‘WHEREVER YOU SET FOOT, YOU WILL BE ON LAND I HAVE GIVEN YOU…NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO STAND AGAINST YOU AS LONG AS YOU LIVE. FOR I WILL BE WITH YOU AS I WAS WITH MOSES. I WILL NOT FAIL YOU OR ABANDON YOU.”  JOSHUA 1:3

MANY TIMES, THE NEXT BIG THING GOD WANTS TO DO IN YOUR LIFE IS RIGHT OUTSIDE OF YOUR CURRENT COMFORT ZONE.

I want to outline 5 steps to help you turn the page….to take a confident step towards the next big thing God has for you! Are you all ready to learn how to turn a page in your Life?

  1. LET GO OF THE BAD HISTORY

“FORGET THE FORMER THINGS; DO NOT DWELL ON THE PAST. SEE, I AM DOING A NEW THING! NOW IT SPRINGS UP; DO YOU NOT PERCEIVE IT…?”  ISAIAH 43:18-19

Psalm 145 says this:

THE LORD IS GRACIOUS AND COMPASSIONATE, SLOW TO ANGER AND RICH IN LOVE. PSALM 145:8

FOR I WILL FORGIVE THEIR WRONGDOING, AND I WILL NEVER AGAIN REMEMBER THEIR SINS. HEBREWS 8:12

God is saying I FORGIVE YOU for what you’ve done wrong! And he will NEVER AGAIN remember your sins AND God is not a man that he shall lie so you can take that promise to the Grave!

  1. LET GO OF BAD HABITS

“IS NOT THIS THE KIND OF FASTING I HAVE CHOSEN: TO LOOSE THE CHAINS OF INJUSTICE AND UNTIE THE CORDS OF THE YOKE, TO SET THE OPPRESSED FREE AND BREAK EVERY YOKE?” – ISAIAH 58:6 NIV

  1. LET GO OF PAST HURTS

Some of you in here are wounded and it hurts and again it’s defining your life. What they did or what they said– maybe its time for you to move on from it. Listen, That quote from earlier – let me alter it –

“YOU CAN’T START THE NEXT CHAPTER OF YOUR LIFE IF YOU KEEP RE-READING THE LAST ONE.”

You cant step into the next big thing God has for you if you are still making decisions taking into account an old past hurt.

DON’T LET ANYTHING FROM YOUR PAST ROB YOU FROM YOUR FUTURE.

…WATCH OUT THAT NO POISONOUS ROOT OF BITTERNESS GROWS UP TO TROUBLE YOU, CORRUPTING MANY. HEBREWS 12:15 NLT

Let go of past hurts and let God move!

  1. LET GO OF DOUBT

Judges 6 gives such a powerful example of what happens when you let go of doubt and choose to believe the promises of God.

The Israelites were handed over to the Midianites because they did some bad things. The Midianites were so cruel to the Israelites that they literally made hiding places in the mountains and caves. One day – an Israelite named Gideon was threshing wheat in the bottom of a winepress, so that he could stay hidden when an angle of the Lord appeared. Let’s take a look:

THE ANGEL OF THE LORD APPEARED TO HIM (GIDEON) AND SAID, ‘MIGHTY HERO, THE LORD IS WITH YOU!’ ‘SIR,’ GIDEON REPLIED, ‘IF THE LORD IS WITH US, WHY HAS ALL OF THIS HAPPENED TO US? AND WHERE ARE ALL OF THE MIRACLES OUR ANCESTORS TOLD US ABOUT?” JUDGES 6:12-13

Have you ever asked that question? If God is with me – then why is this happening!? That’s the doubt I’m talking about – but listen to what happens:

THEN THE LORD TURNED TO HIM AND SAID, “GO WITH THE STRENGTH YOU HAVE, AND RESCUE ISRAEL FROM THE MIDIANITES, I AM SENDING YOU!” “BUT LORD, ‘GIDEON REPLIED, “ HOW CAN I RECUE ISRAEL? MY CLAN IS THE WEAKEST IN THE WHOLE TRIBE OF MANASSEH, AND I AM THE LEAST IN MY ENTIRE FAMILY!” “THE LORD SAID TO HIM, “I WILL BE WITH YOU AND YOU WILL DESTROY MIDIANITES AS IF YOU WERE FIGHTING AGAINST ONE MAN”  JUDGES 6:14-16

Gideon ended up overcoming his doubts and he ended up defeating the Midianites and bringing peace to Israel for the next 40 years – someone that had no confidence in what God wanted to use him for does something so big!!! Heres what I know – Gideon went from Hiding to hero because he was able to throw his doubts upon the Lord and let God do a huge work through him!

  1. TURN THE PAGE

YOU DON’T HAVE TO UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY TO OBEY IMMEDIATELY

Whatever God is calling you to next, I want to challenge you…listen to the call and act. Take the step and see what God is going to do through your obedience! Heres what I know IT’S A TRUST THING!

WITHOUT FULL TRUST THERE’S NO SURRENDER, AND WITH NO SURRENDER THERE’S NO FREEDOM.

BUT WHEN YOU PRAY, YOU MUST BELIEVE AND NOT DOUBT AT ALL. WHOEVER DOUBTS IS LIKE A WAVE IN THE SEA THAT IS DRIVEN AND BLOWN ABOUT BY THE WIND. JAMES 1:6 GNT

Dec 10, 2019

Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said, “Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this remote place.” But Jesus said, “You feed them.” “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Or are you expecting us to go and buy enough food for this whole crowd?” For there were about 5,000 men there. Luke 9:12-14

About 5,000 men were fed that day, in addition to all the women and children! Matthew 14:21

Jesus replied, “Tell them to sit down in groups of about fifty each.” So the people all sat down. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers! Luke 9:14-17

When the day began to wear away. Luke 9:12 NKJV

But Jesus said, “You feed them.” Luke 9:13

Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces. Luke 9:16

he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. Luke 9:16

  1. IT HAS TO BE BLESSED BEFORE IT CAN MULTIPLY.

2. IT HAS TO BE GIVEN AWAY TO MULTIPLY.

Blessed are those who act justly, who always do what is right. Psalms 106:3 NIV

I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you… Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:1-2

Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead, whom He had raised from the dead. There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him. Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who would betray Him, said, “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it. John 12:1-6 NKJV

1. THE ENEMY OF GENEROSITY

This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it. John 12:6 NKJV

Then Jesus said, “I chose the twelve of you, but one is a devil.” He was speaking of Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, one of the Twelve, who would later betray him. John 6:70-71

SUCCESS IS CONFRONTING OUR WEAKNESSES AND OVERCOMING THEM!

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

2. THE EXTRAVAGANCE OF GENEROSITY

And now, because of my devotion to the Temple of my God, I am giving all of my own private treasures of gold and silver to help in the construction 1 Chronicles 29:3

Solomon loved the Lord and followed all the decrees of his father, David, so the king went there and sacrificed 1,000 burnt offerings. 1 Kings 3:3-4

While Jesus was in the Temple, he watched the rich people dropping their gifts in the collection box. Then a poor widow came by and dropped in two small coins. “I tell you the truth,” Jesus said, “this poor widow has given more than all the rest of them. For they have given a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she has.” Luke 21:1-4

EXTRAVAGANCE IS NOT THE AMOUNT, BUT THE ATTITUDE BEHIND IT!

She has done what she could and has anointed my body for burial ahead of time. Mark 14:8

They exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord. 2 Corinthians 8:5 NIV

THE MOST EXTRAVAGANT THING YOU CAN GIVE GOD IS YOUR HEART.

3. THE REWARD OF GENEROSITY

I tell you the truth, wherever the Good News is preached throughout the world, this woman’s deed will be remembered and discussed. Mark 14:9

When Mary arrived and saw Jesus, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died.”; “Roll the stone aside,” Jesus told them. But Martha, the dead man’s sister, protested, “Lord, he has been dead for four days. The smell will be terrible.” Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?”;  Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!”  And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!” John 11:32;39-40;43-44

GENEROSITY IS A REFLECTION OF GRATITUDE

But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)  For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:4-6

Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Hebrews 11:6

I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. Genesis 12:2 NIV

The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him. Genesis 12:7
