YOU CAN EITHER BE INFLUENCED OR BE INFLUENTIAL.

“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:13-16

YOUR TITLE MAKES YOU A MANAGER, BUT YOUR PEOPLE MAKE YOU A LEADER.

1. WE FIND CONFIDENCE IN AUTHENTICITY

2. WE HUNGER FOR GROWTH

3. WE GRASP THAT EXCELLENCE REFLECTS CHARACTER

4. WE LAVISH OUR GENEROSITY

5. WE ARE SERVANT LEADERS.

"Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant.” -Jesus. It is not about us, but the people we lead and we spend our energy inspiring and empowering them.

“Only a life lived in the service of others is worth living” Albert Einstein

Before the Passover celebration, Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to his Father. He had loved his disciples during his ministry on earth, and now he loved them to the very end. Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God. So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him; After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you understand what I was doing? You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message. Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them. John 13:1;3-5;12-17

✓     SERVING STARTS WITH ME.

Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. 1 Timothy 4:12

✓     SERVING STARTS WITH BEING FAITHFUL WITH THE SECRET OPPORTUNITIES.

“You can map out a fight plan or a life plan. But when the action starts, you’re down to your reflexes.  Thats where your road work shows.  If you cheated on that in the dark morning, you’re getting found out now under the bright lights.” Joe Frazier

✓     SERVING STARTS WITH THE INSIGNIFICANT AREAS EVERYONE ELSE IGNORES.

If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important. Galatians 6:3

GREAT OPPORTUNITIES OFTEN DISGUISE THEMSELVES IN SMALL TASKS

6. WE ARE SOLUTION-ORIENTED.

Anyone can identify a problem, but leaders identify solutions. A problem is just an opportunity for growth and a step to the next level as we discover the solution.

The number one predictor of success is grit, the ability to overcome adversity, challenges, obstacles that ultimately create our success. – Jon Gordon

EASE AND COMFORT ARE THE ENEMIES OF GRIT.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4

✓     WE GATHER THE FACTS.

“What a shame—yes, how stupid!—to decide before knowing the facts!” Proverbs 18:13 TLB

✓     WE ARE OPEN TO NEW IDEAS.

“The intelligent man is always open to new ideas. In fact, he looks for them.” Proverbs 18:15 TLB

WE LEAN ON GOD.

"If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgment and common sense, then trust the Lord completely; don't ever trust yourself. In everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.” Proverbs 3:4-6, TLB

7. WE ARE UNAPOLOGETICALLY LOYAL-

We are more than a team we are family and we love, respect, support, and defend each other in that way.

WE DO NOT ALLOW NEGATIVE THOUGHTS AND WORDS TO BECOME A PUBLIC SPECTACLE.

✓     I WILL FIRST GO DIRECTLY TO THE PERSON INVOLVED AND NO ONE ELSE.

“If a brother sins against you, go to him privately and confront him with his fault. If he listens and confesses it, you have won back a brother.  But if not, then take one or two others with you and go back to him again Matthew 18:15-16 TLB

✓      I WILL NOT HANG OUT WITH NEGATIVE PEOPLE.

“Bad company corrupts good character.” 1 Corinthians 15:33

✓

I WILL SPEAK WORDS OF LIFE.

“The tongue has the power of life and death” Proverbs 18:21

OUR MISSION IS TOO IMPORTANT, AND OUR WORDS TOO POWERFUL, TO SPEAK CARELESSLY AND RISK DAMAGING PEOPLE.

Ephesians 4:29
