And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Mark 12:30-31

“For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 ESV

ochuroma (okh-oo'-ro-mah); to fortify, a strong castle, a prisoner locked by deception.

DEMOLISHING THE STRONGHOLD OF THE MIND

1. IDENTIFY THE STRONGHOLD

“Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.” 2 Timothy 2:26 NLT

“When he (the devil) lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44 ESV

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ” 2 Corinthians 10:5 ESV

____ MATERIAL/FINANCIAL STRONGHOLD

____ ADDICTIVE/HABITUAL STRONGHOLD

____ PERSONAL/PHYSICAL STRONGHOLD

____ RELATIONAL STRONGHOLD

____ SPIRITUAL STRONGHOLD

2. ATTACK THE STRONGHOLD WITH GOD’S WEAPONS

A wise man attacks the city of the mighty and pulls down the stronghold in which they trust. Proverbs 21:22 NIV

For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 ESV

The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants...These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions... Galatians 5:17 NLT

STOP AND PHYSICALLY ASK YOURSELF…

“WHY AM I FEELING WHAT I AM FEELING RIGHT NOW?”

“WHY AM I REALLY FEELING WHAT I AM FEELING RIGHT NOW?”

“WHY AM I REALLY FEELING WHAT I AM FEELING RIGHT NOW?”

STOP AND PHYSICALLY ASK YOURSELF…

“WHAT LIE AM I BELIEVING TO MAKE THIS FEELING TRUE?”

STOP AND PHYSICALLY PRAY

3. DESTROY STRONGHOLDS WITH GOD’S TRUTH

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ” 2 Corinthians 10:5 ESV

Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:7-9 NLT

“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32

“So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.” John 8:36
